As the founding principal of Browning Design Inc., Gary Browning has shaped the direction and character of the firm for more than four decades. With a background in landscape architecture and a graduate degree in environmental planning, Gary has built his career around a design philosophy rooted in environmental stewardship, thoughtful land use, and a deep respect for the landscapes he works within.

Under his leadership, Browning Design Inc. has grown into a respected studio with offices in Calgary and Edmonton, balancing a diverse portfolio of landscape architectural and golf course design projects. Gary’s work extends well beyond Western Canada, with project experience in the United States, Guam, Mainland China, and Indonesia, reflecting both his adaptability and his reputation in the field.

With over 40 years of professional experience, Gary brings expertise in resort planning, master planning, landscape design, and golf course architecture. His steady guidance, collaborative approach, and commitment to design excellence continue to influence the firm’s culture and the quality of work produced by the team he has built.

As Associate Principal at Browning Design Inc., Brad Giesbrecht brings more than 25 years of dedication to the firm and to the landscape architecture and land development industry. Having grown with the company, he carries a deep understanding of its values, standards, and design philosophy experience that shapes his steady, hands‑on leadership today.

Brad’s expertise spans conceptual planning, detailed design, contract documentation, and construction supervision, giving him a comprehensive view of how thoughtful ideas become successful built work. He oversees the studio’s design production and quality control, working closely with project teams to refine drawings, strengthen coordination, and ensure each project reflects the firm’s commitment to clarity and design excellence.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp, Brad supports the creation of well‑crafted, cohesive documentation across all project types. Collaborative, detail‑oriented, and deeply invested in the success of both the work and the people behind it, Brad remains a central guiding force in the studio’s ongoing evolution.

With more than 20 years of experience in landscape architecture and land development, Sarah Huber brings seasoned leadership and a comprehensive understanding of the profession to her role as Senior Project Manager at Browning Design Inc. Her career has touched every stage of project delivery, from early design development to the preparation of tender and contract documentation, through to on‑site construction coordination, giving her a deep appreciation for both the creative and technical demands of complex projects.

At Browning Design Inc., Sarah leads multidisciplinary project teams, guiding the design process and ensuring that project objectives are met with clarity and precision. She works closely with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, fostering strong communication and alignment throughout each phase of work. Her ability to balance big‑picture vision with meticulous attention to detail helps ensure that deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and to the high standard the firm is known for.

Steady, experienced, and solutions‑oriented, Sarah plays a central role in shaping successful project outcomes and supporting the continued growth of the studio.

Shannon Pannebaker rejoined Browning Design Inc. in early 2023, bringing extensive experience in landscape design, horticulture, and arboriculture. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Horticulture from Olds College, a diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology, and certification in Arboriculture, she offers a multidisciplinary perspective that strengthens both design intent and technical execution.

As our AutoCAD lead, Shannon guides the development and maintenance of our drawing standards, ensuring clarity and precision across all project documentation. She contributes to conceptual design, prepares detailed construction drawings, and conducts site inspections and assessments, helping translate ideas into practical, buildable solutions. Her technical expertise, plant knowledge, and steady leadership make her an essential part of our project delivery team.

Alanna Giesbrecht joins Browning Design Inc. as our newest Landscape Architectural Technologist, bringing a strong foundation from the NAIT Landscape Architecture program and an enthusiasm for thoughtful, well‑crafted design. She supports projects through every stage of development, preparing AutoCAD‑based concept plans, detailed construction drawings, specifications, tender documents, and assisting with site inspections and construction supervision.

With proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and SketchUp, Alanna contributes a careful, detail‑oriented approach to each task. Her curiosity, technical skill, and collaborative spirit make her a welcome addition to the team as she begins building her professional career in landscape architecture.

Michael Servante is a Senior Landscape Architectural Technologist at Browning Design Inc., where he plays a key role in the development of design documentation and visual communication. With a strong focus on graphic rendering and digital visualization, Michael is responsible for preparing conceptual site plans, preliminary and construction drawings, 3D models, and high-quality digital master plan renderings. 

He is highly proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, which he skillfully uses to produce compelling and accurate visual presentations that support both client understanding and project approvals. Michael’s ability to translate complex design concepts into clear, visually engaging graphics makes him an essential contributor to the studio’s design process.
